Sri Lanka's Southern Coast is a global surfer's paradise. With Coco Tuk Tuk's heavy-duty custom surfboard roof racks (equipped with quick-release padded straps), you can transport up to two longboards or shortboards directly on your 3-wheeler!
1. Weligama Bay — Best for Beginners & Longboarders
A huge crescent bay with a soft sandy bottom, gentle waist-deep waves, and dozens of beachside surf schools. Perfect for catching your very first wave or practicing pop-ups.
2. Midigama & Rams Right — Intermediate to Advanced Reef Breaks
Located just 10 minutes west of Weligama. Rams Right is famous for fast, hollow barrels over shallow live coral. Best surfed at dawn when off-shore winds create glassy conditions.
3. Hiriketiya Horseshoe Bay — Iconic Tropical Atmosphere
Tucked inside a dense coconut grove near Dickwella, Hiriketiya features a mellow sandy beach break on the right and a punchy, fast left-hand point break over the reef on the left.
4. Ahangama Secret Spot & Marshmallows
Ahangama offers deep-water A-frame peaks that break both left and right. Less crowded than Weligama, offering clean lines for intermediate shortboarders.
5. Kabalana Main Point (The Rock) — A-Frame Heavyweight
Known for holding big swells during peak season (November to April). The outer reef produces powerful 6-8ft walls for experienced surfers seeking adrenaline.
